[Creation]
In the silence, there was nothing but chaos. But even before Chaos existed, there was the Auctor. He was there from the beginning of eternity, and as sages speculate, to the end of the world. Out of the chaos, the Auctor created the Animus who proceeded to shape the world as they desired. To some he gave dominion of the sea, to others of the sky, to others the land. He then created the five races to inhabit the lands and coexist with the Animus. The Nariens to the north, the Weslan to the west, the Orecas to the east, and the Khorvans to the south. The Desaires, he sent to wander the lands.

[Shaping]
The Animus guided the land as they saw fit, whether for good or evil, the world changed on their whims. Seas flowed and changed directions, mountains built and crumbled in days, and the landscape continually changed. Most of the Animus kept to their part of their little worlds and guided it as they saw fit. Some helped the humans while others hindered them. It was neither the best of times for the humans who lived in fear of the Anima nor the worst for some were truly kind.

[Silence]
Then, for reasons unclear, the Auctor disappeared. The world was thrown into chaos with the disappearance of the Auctor and fighting broke out between the various races. With the Auctor, however, a part of the Animus's power had disappeared. They lost the abilities to shape the land and sea and sky, and though they retained much of their power, they lost their abilities to roam as gods. However, their immortality still lingered and they still roamed the earth. Some became rulers of the human races and rose to power, and due to their immortal lifespans, have survived for long times. Other Animus died as a result of conflict with others or swore allegiance to the surviving Animus that were more powerful.

[The Heroic Age]
Now, out of the surviving Animus, only four of the most powerful remain, forming the Immortal Thrones. They control the various regions and peoples that live in their domain. Other Animus have either hid from them or serve under them. Of the five that exist, their names are Valience the Phoenix, Moredin the Roc, Selene the Dove, Aler the Avalerion, and Maira the Swan.
